The EU has formally adopted a 90% net emissions reduction target for 2040 and confirmed that all new cars sold in Europe must be zero-emission by 2035. With a €65 billion Social Climate Fund and expanded carbon markets, the finalised Green Deal package is now the most legally binding climate framework in the world.
